Temperatures this afternoon fell short of average by a few degrees, reaching the upper 50s. Mild temperatures will continue for the Capital City into the evening with mostly cloudy skies.

Low temperatures in southeast Nebraska were warm this morning, as the Capital City stayed above 50 degrees. Overnight cloud cover helped keep us warmer than average.

Low temperatures tonight will be similar to this morning with many in southeast Nebraska falling to the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Given another evening of mostly cloudy skies and southeasterly winds, it looks like temperatures will stay in the lower 50s for Lincoln this evening.

Highs to start the work week on Monday will be in the middle and upper 50s with mostly cloudy skies. Afternoon showers and potentially a thunderstorm will work their way west to east across the state tomorrow.

Long range models (Slide 1) are favoring higher rainfall totals through Tuesday afternoon with over half an inch for Lincoln. Short-range models (Slide 2) have been more conservative with their precipitation totals.

A small chance of rain on Wednesday before sunshine returns to the forecast later this week. High temperatures fall to the lower 50s on Wednesday but rebound in the lower 60s by the weekend.  Mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s continue into the first week of November.
