Here’s how to report tree debris

City officials on Monday sent out a reminder to residents about how to report downed trees.

For trees blocking City streets or sidewalks, contact Lincoln Police’s non-emergency number: 402-441-6000. Do not call 911.

For damage to other public trees between curbs and sidewalks, contact the City Community Forestry Section: 402-441-7847 (ext. 0). Callers are encouraged to provide their name, address, phone number and nature of their problem on the number’s voicemail.

You can also report damage to street trees at UPLNK.lincoln.ne.gov.

Disposal of private tree debris is the responsibility of the property owner. City officials are also urging caution about broken tree limbs that could fall and cause injuries.

The City Transfer Station at 5101 N. 48th Street is open from 6:45 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as 6:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and 6:45 a.m. until noon Sunday. For more information, call 402-441-8104.
