Goodrich Middle School students tape officer to wall as part of fundraising challenge

Students at Goodrich Middle School had to restrain their school resource officer Friday afternoon…but for good reason.

Officer Rick Roh had challenged students to raise at least $2,200 for the BackPack Program. It provides meals to those who are food insecure. Students managed to raise $2,600, and Officer Roh made good on his bet.

“It’s been an opportunity for me to build relationships with the kids and kind of humanize the badge a little bit. Let them know I’m just a person like them, maybe a little bit weird,” Officer Roh said.

He wasn’t the only one that got in on the challenge. Some Goodrich teachers were slimed by students as part of the same challenge.

The students did excellent work taping Officer Roh as the tape successfully held him to the wall.
