No. 1 Nebraska wins third-straight Big Ten title, sweeps No. 17 Indiana

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Husker volleyball team swept Indiana to clinch its third-straight Big Ten title.

No. 1 Nebraska volleyball won the title with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-22 win at No. 17 Indiana. The Huskers played in front of a crowd of 2,832 at Wilkinson Hall on Saturday night. 

It’s the first title for head coach Dani Busboom Kelly.

She becomes the first coach in Big Ten history to win a conference title in her first season.

Freshman Virginia Adriano had quite a night. She finished with nine kills, and a career-high six blocks.

But was Harper Murray who led the way for the Huskers with 11 kills.

NU improves to 28-0 and is just two matches away from completing a perfect season. The Huskers will close out their regular season at home.

They’ll face No. 24 Penn State next Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The final game of the season will be senior night vs. Ohio State at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
