Chilly Thanksgiving- Winter Storm This Weekend

Friday: Fluffy blowing snow showers will begin in NE Nebraska Friday afternoon near lunchtime. A few flurries are possible through the Husker game, before wintry mix begins further south by the evening. NE Nebraska has the best chance for accumulating snow through Friday night.

Saturday: Saturday morning, the colder air will shift south making for a transition period from rain to snow. Freezing rain will lead to slick and icy spots along I-80. Ice accumulations up to a few hundredths along I-80 through Saturday afternoon. Rain will be likely in SE Nebraska before switching over to wet/thick snow by Saturday afternoon. With rain occurring, this means MOISTURE.  As the colder air and gusty winds dives south, a few pockets of dry air could occur meaning snow accumulations will be hindered. Overall, most of us will see slick travel conditions Saturday. Winds will be gusty also, so reduced visibilities will be a concern for travelers. Best chance for high snow accumulations will be further north and east. Stay tuned for updates!
