Saturday Snow Before Blustery Cold
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES remain in place through Saturday afternoon and evening. Expect icy roads, additional light snow and 40+ mph wind gusts. Winter Storm Warnings are in place through Sunday morning from Omaha north and east. Much of the heavy snow will taper off by 11am with no more precipitation expected behind this system. Expect BLUSTERY cold Saturday afternoon through Sunday night.
Storm cast shows the bulk of the heavy snow through 10AM, before light blowing snow near lunchtime.
Today, temperatures will be BLUSTERY! Afternoon temperatures in the teens and 20s across the state.
Saturday night, temperatures will be sharp like needles! Temperatures dropping into the single digits to around 10 degrees for most of us.
Temperatures Sunday morning will be in the single digits, maybe a few degrees below zero toward NW Nebraska.
Wind chill values near or below zero across eastern Nebraska Sunday morning. A great morning to stay inside with the heater on and hot chocolate!
NW winds will pick up once the snow moves out. Peak wind gusts up to 45 mph Saturday afternoon.
Sunday will be COLD, with temperatures in the teens and 20s and a few peaks of sun. Monday morning, a few light snow showers move in from the SW and move out by the afternoon. Accumulations will be less from this weekends event. Wednesday, a small chance for some passing flurries. By Friday, a slight warmup back into the upper 30s! HOORAY!
