Professional soccer team coming to Omaha

Professional soccer is coming to Omaha.
The USL League One announced Wednesday it awarded a franchise to Alliance Omaha Soccer Holdings, which will have a club starting in 2020.
The club would be the only professional soccer team in Nebraska and will be coached by former University of Nebraska Omaha Head Coach Jay Mims, according to the League One website.
Talks of bringing a team have been in the works for two years, the website says.
The team will play at Werner Park, have its own staff, and be led by President and GM Martie Cordaro.
