A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect until 6pm Monday evening for counties south of I-80. Snow totals between 2-4″ possible, with the most snow near the KS/MO border. Light snow will ease up near 3pm in SE Nebraska. as dry air from the NW pushes in. This snow will be light, fluffy and easy to shovel. There is also some icy spots still out there, so take it slow if traveling.
The best chance for 2–4″+ of snow continues across parts of southeast Nebraska through Monday afternoon. Localized areas may pick up a bit more. Some solid snow bands have already set up from the Tri-Cities into Lincoln this morning, putting totals near that 1–3″ range as we head through the rest of the afternoon.
Today, temperatures will be COLD! Afternoon temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Warmer temperatures out west where sunshine will be present.
Tuesday morning, temperatures will be sharp like needles! Temperatures dropping into the single digits to around 10 degrees for most of us. The coldest air will be into eastern Nebraska and west central Iowa.
Monday morning, a few light to moderate snow showers move in W->E and move out by the early afternoon. Accumulations between 1-2″+. Wednesday, a small chance for some passing flurries. By Friday, a slight warmup back into the upper 30s! HOORAY! Take it easy out there, through the snow, ice and blustery temperatures these upcoming days.
