Bitter Cold Tonight, Sunny and Slightly Warmer Sunday
Cold temperatures in the lower teens continue as we head into Sunday evening. The sun poked out for the end of the day here in Lincoln and clear skies look to stick around over the next couple hours.
Now that snow chances have wrapped up across the state, we turn our attention to the peak of our latest cold stretch. StormCast shows frigid overnight temperatures across the state. We do look to stay dry over the next couple of days.
Low temperatures in southeast Nebraska will be in the lower single digits with light northerly winds.
Just above zero overnight in Lincoln with partly cloudy skies. A very cold start to the day on Sunday is expected.
Wind chills across the state look about as unpleasant as our low temperatures. Arctic air and a northerly wind will likely put our wind chill in Lincoln below zero.
Temperatures will be close to 10 degrees warmer on Sunday. Mostly sunny skies expected with winds out of the south.

High temperatures continue to climb as we head toward the middle of this week, peaking in the middle 50s. Mostly sunny to partly sunny skies heading into next weekend with highs still lingering in the 40s by the winter solstice.
