LFR battles garage fire in southeast Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews battled an early Monday morning house fire in freezing temps and strong winds.
Crews responded to the fire at a home near 63rd Street and Tanglewood Lane, just north of Old Cheney Road, at around 2:45 a.m.
LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the fire started due to a mechanical failure inside some shop equipment in the garage. It was deemed “accidental.”
The fire caused around $80,000 in damage to property and another $50,000 to the contents. No one was injured.
The Red Cross is helping relocate the family.
