Colorado teen, horse and dog killed in crash on rural Nebraska highway

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Colorado teen was killed Saturday in a crash on a highway in rural Lincoln County, the sheriff’s office says.

The crash involving a semitrailer and a pickup with a horse trailer happened on Highway 83 just south of North Platte.

The sheriff’s office said the pickup crossed the center line and crashed into the semi.

The driver of the pickup, 18-year-old Afton Robertson of Colorado, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

A horse in the trailer and a dog in the pickup also died in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver of the Semi, a 53-year-old man from California, suffered severe injuries and was taken to a hospital in North Platte.
