Beautiful Friday Before Arctic Air & Snow Chances Sunday

Today: Get out and enjoy this afternoon! Temperatures warming up into the 60s and 70s under sunny skies and light winds! Further west there will be breezier conditions.

Saturday: Temperatures remain in the 50s and 60s with increasing clouds and breezier conditions. A strong cold front moves west to east Saturday night, bringing COLD, BLUSTERY Arctic air and light wintry mix  through Sunday afternoon.

Sunday and beyond: Sunday morning into the afternoon brings a chance for a rain/snow mix across eastern Nebraska. The afternoon turns cold and breezy with cloudy skies and temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Gusty winds will make it feel like the teens to low 20s much of the day. Monday will be BLUSTERY. Northwest winds gusting 20–30+ mph will keep wind chills in the teens all day. Looking ahead, the next best chance for precipitation arrives January 4–7, 2026.

Looking ahead, temperatures stay warm through Saturday afternoon before a sharp drop Sunday and Monday. Winter is making a return for all the cold weather lovers!

Storm Cast shows the cold front moving into the state Saturday night, bringing light snow showers to the panhandle. The cold air and light snow/sleet moves into SE Nebraska Sunday morning and afternoon. Minor ice accumulations could be a concern along I-80.

Monday morning wind chills could fall to 5–10° below zero across much of Nebraska. Just a heads up!
