WARM End to the Year- New Year Starts Cold
This last December afternoon, high temperatures warming up nicely into the 50s and 60s under sunny skies. Expect breezy northwest winds at 15–25 mph, adding a slight chill despite the sunshine. Our average high is 36 degrees!
Northwest winds will gust to near 20-25 mph through the early afternoon. Winds will become light once the sun sets.
New Years Eve plans? Bundle up! Temperatures will start chilly then turn quite cold with a bitter feel. A fast-moving clipper system swings through Wednesday night, ushering in colder air. New Years Day and Friday will be chilly and cloudy across eastern Nebraska.
DRY conditions are on track through January 6, 2026. Late next week could be our next decent precipitation chance along with colder air. Enjoy the sunshine and warmer temperatures before a cold stretch mid January!
