LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Gov. Jim Pillen on Wednesday ordered that all U.S. and state flags be flown at half staff.

The order is in accordance with a directive from President Donald Trump and honors California Congressman Doug LaMalfa, who died Monday at age 65.

In a Truth Social post, President Trump called LaMalfa a true American patriot and a fantastic representative for Northern California.

Pillen said that flags should fly at half-staff until sunset on Wednesday evening.
