Last Mild Day Before Bitter Cold
This afternoon, temperatures staying warm but strong NW winds and cloudy skies will make it feel cooler! Today kicks off the stretch of windy conditions through this weekend, with cooler temperatures settling in Friday.
Tuesday afternoon brings light rain/drizzle to parts of central and SE Nebraska. The better chance for 0.10″ of rain will be into parts of Cherry county.
Some dry lightning could occur within some convective showers this afternoon. Some gusts near 50 mph possible this afternoon north of I-80,
Wednesday morning, a few passing snow flurries are possible across eastern Nebraska. A trace of accumulation is expected for counties like Keya Paha, Brown, Rock and Boyd. Winds will blow this snow around making for reduced visibilities at times.
The coldest air will move in Friday morning and especially Saturday and Sunday morning. Wind chills a few degrees below zero across eastern Nebraska.
Tuesday starts our stretch of windy and cooler conditions. A cold front Tuesday afternoon brings temperatures down into the 30s and 40s with drizzle likely across central Nebraska. Cool and windy conditions continue through the weekend. Light blowing snow is possible Friday across eastern Nebraska. Late next week, a potential system could bring colder air with snow chances.
