Lincoln student caught bringing meth to school

A Belmont Elementary school student brought meth to school Wednesday.
Lincoln police said a fifth grader was caught with a baggie filled with a white, powdery substance. They said upon further investigation, it turned out to be one gram of methamphetamine.
LPD said the student said she found it on the street the day before and that she didn’t know she still had it with her when she went to school Wednesday.
Police said they continue to investigate and that the student has been referred to juvenile court.
