Winds Let Up, Colder for MLK Day

Df 5p 7p 9p Planner Today

For once we look to have a fairly typical January evening in store to close out the weekend. Stronger winds will linger into the overnight hours, but temperatures are right about where we would expect them to be in mid-January.

There is a small chance of snow on Sunday evening for central and eastern portions of the state. Above is the latest run of StormCast showing the timing of tonight’s isolated snow showers.

After another breezy afternoon, stronger wind gusts look to slowly taper off for the end of Sunday.

We are expecting another evening of colder temperatures for southeast Nebraska, with most of us seeing lows below 10 degrees.

Partly cloudy skies and wind chills between -5 and -10 degrees tonight for the Lincoln area.

By 8 a.m Monday, temperatures will likely still be in the single digits with our wind chills below zero. No school for Lincoln Public Schools tomorrow, but it will be frigid for the morning commute.
