Above Average Temperatures- COLD Friday
This afternoon, temperatures warming up a bit, ranging from the 30s to the upper 50s. SW winds will be stronger out west with breezier winds further east. Partly sunny skies will be present where the cooler temperatures are.
Tuesday evening from 3pm-11pm, light snow showers/ flurries will occur in far NE Nebraska with light accumulations expected.
Friday morning wind chills will be 20–30° BELOW ZERO across much of eastern Nebraska. Afternoon temperatures will struggle to reach the teens as thick clouds and light snow chances enter the state by the evening hours. Light snow is possible through Saturday morning.
Wind chills will begin to plummet Friday morning, with values near 15–25° below zero continuing through Sunday morning.
Another clipper system could bring light snow into NE Nebraska this afternoon. Wednesday will be Warmer but winds will ramp up with gusts near 40+ mph. Friday morning begins our bitter cold stretch through the weekend. Light blowing snow is possible Friday night into Saturday across the state. Next week brings “warmer” air back into the 30s.
