Warmer, Light Breeze on Sunday

Partly cloudy to mostly clear skies for the rest of our Saturday as temperatures return to the upper 30s and lower 40s by 8 p.m. Winds are expected to dial back over the next couple of hours, leaving us with a calm and mild early February evening.

Low temperatures will be close to freezing across the area.

We look to sneak just under the freezing point in Lincoln tonight under mostly clear skies.

The latest runs of StormCast keep us dry through the weekend with variable cloud cover.

Persistent warm temperatures continue to pose a risk for ice jams for the Elkhorn, Loup, and Platte Rivers. A Flood Watch remains in place through Monday.

Temperatures will continue to warm on Sunday, with a very pleasant day on tap with light winds.

We will still need a jacket to start the day off in Lincoln, though maybe not by the afternoon! We look to see highs in the lower 60s with a light northerly breeze.

Temperatures will peak on Monday with many of us going on record-high watch to start the work week! The record to beat in Lincoln is 68° set in 1954.

Temperatures drop off on Tuesday back into the 40s and 50s as we expect to see a more active weather pattern for the majority of next week. Periodic chances for rain hit the forecast starting on Wednesday, with chances for a wintry mix late Thursday and into Friday. Precipitation chances will attempt to carry over into the start of the weekend.
