LPD asks for help in solving tire and rim theft near 37th and Cornhusker

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN-TV) — The Lincoln Police Department said that it is investigating the theft of four tires and rims from a truck. Police said that the theft occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at car lot near 37th and Cornhusker.
LPD said that video footage from the scene showed that the crime occurred between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Authorities said that someone got into the lot, used a jack to lift up the truck, and then loosened all the tires.
According to investigators, those responsible for the theft had difficulty getting the passenger side tire loose and used their own truck to remove that tire.
Police noted that four tires and rims were stolen during the theft. The tires and rims are valued at more than $3,600, which includes damage to the victim’s truck.
Investigators said the tires and rims are very distinct, which includes the words “RED DIRT ROAD” visible on the outside of edge of the rims.
