Lincoln Police searching for suspect in overnight armed robberies

Lincoln Police are currently searching for a suspect in two armed robberies in northeast Lincoln.

Around 12:20 a.m., a 45-year-old Lincoln man reported he was walking into his apartment building near 48 & Leighton Ave. when a man approached him, pointed a handgun at his chest and demanded the victim’s money and wallet.

The victim initially told the suspect he didn’t have any money, but the suspect pointed the gun to the victim’s head and asked again.

The victim turned over his wallet and the suspect fled east.

Less than 10 minutes later, a 27-year-old Lincoln woman reported she was walking up to her home near N. Cotner Blvd & Adams Street when a man came up to her and pointed a handgun at her neck, demanding her money.

The victim told the suspect she didn’t have any didn’t have any money, but asked her if she was sure while still pointing the gun at her.

The suspect then took her purse and fled west along Adams Street.

Neither victim sustained any physical injuries. 

The suspect was described by both victims as a black male, approximately 5’5″ tall and perhaps in his 30s.
