LPD searching for man who set woman’s car on fire

Lincoln Police are searching for a man who’s captured on surveillance video setting a woman’s car on fire.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday night near 48th and Van Dorn in southeast Lincoln. 

Police say a 38-year-old woman was inside her home when she heard glass breaking and looked out the window to see her 2018 Dodge Durango on fire.

A neighbors surveillance camera captures a male in a dark hoodie fleeing as flames start shooting from the SUV. 

Lincoln Fire and Rescue were able to extinguish the flames without any nearby structures being damaged. 

Police estimate damages at $40,000 dollars and say the vehicle is a total loss.
