Hamfest coming to the Lancaster Event Center

Calling all radioheads!

Next Saturday, March 9th at the Lancaster Event Center the Lincoln Amateur Radio Club will be hosting Hamfest. It’s a convention for Ham radio users and those interested in the hobby.

Ham radio is used to communicate with people across the world, as well as right here locally.

The Lincoln Amateur Radio Club operates in Lincoln and Lancaster County and provides backup services for Lincoln and Lancaster County Emergency Management in the event of an emergency.

Hamfest will teach anyone interested in the hobby the ins and outs.

“We will have a lot of speakers coming in to talk about various aspects of the hobby, we will have plenty of vendors out there selling new and used HAM radio equipment, we have the opportunity for people to take a test if they would like to get their HAM radio license,” Justin Willamson, the PR manager for the Lincoln Amateur Radio Club said.

Hamfest runs from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on March 9th at the Lancaster Event Center.
