Gretna woman dies after car accident in Sarpy County

On Friday, February 1, 2019 around 6:15 p.m. the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office along with the Nebraska State Patrol and Gretna Fire and Rescue responded to a personal injury crash in the area of Hwy 6 and North Star Drive.
A silver 2017 Honda CRV operated by 71-yea-old Cassandra Clausen of Gretna was eastbound on North Star Drive negotiating a left turn onto northbound Hwy 6.
A silver 2002 Volkswagen Jetta operated by 45-year-old Abram Sollman of Dowagiac, Michigan was southbound on Hwy 6 and struck the CRV.
Both drivers were transported to trauma centers with critical injuries.
Clausen later died at the hospital from her injuries. Sollman remains in critical condition at the time of this release.
The Sarpy County Crash Response Unit responded to the scene for the crash investigation. Hwy 6 was closed for approximately three hours and has since reopened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
