Summer-Like Warmth Through Saturday
Another beautiful & warm day across Nebraska. Highs reaching the 80s & even 90s with light winds and lots of sunshine. The fire risk will be minimal again due to the decrease in winds across the state. It’s going to be HOT and breezy Saturday though.
NW winds will be much lighter across Nebraska. No fire alerts are in effect this Friday afternoon. Peak gusts by Friday evening could reach 15-25 mph farther west.
Saturday will be HOT across Nebraska. Forecasted highs: 88°-97°. The last time Lincoln saw 90° was back in early October! Lots of records will be broken Saturday afternoon.
SW winds will also be gusting to near 30-40 mph, making for CRITICAL to EXTREME fire weather.
Due to the heat, dryness and gusty winds Saturday, CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER will exist across the state all day Saturday.
Friday & Saturday brings record and summer warmth! Some spots could see the low to upper 90s on Saturday. A cold front moves through Sunday with our next spotty light precipitation chance coming Tuesday evening. Precipitation chances increase starting April 1-4.
