Current travel conditions across the state

After freezing rain fell on much of southeastern Nebraska Friday causing chaos on area roadways travel conditions have returned to normal for much of the state.

As of Saturday morning NE 511 shows about half of the state with normal or wet pavement conditions, as demonstrated by the green lines, or partially snow/ice covered roads as demonstrated by the blue lines.

In and around Lincoln many area roadways are just wet as city crews worked overnight to apply salt pre-wet with brine to city streets.

Northwest and southeast of Lincoln roads are partially covered with snow/ice and drivers are urged to use caution while out driving.

Traffic cameras along I-80 show wet pavement along the interstate from Lincoln to Omaha. Salt has been applied, but drivers are urged to slow down, provide extra stopping distance, and to allow extra time to get to your destination.

Traffic cameras on Highway 77 near Van Dorn show normal road conditions, but along NE 2 near Palmyra roads are partially covered with ice.

No matter where you are driving use caution and give yourself plenty of time and stopping distance.
