Lacing up her roller blades, it’s a routine Yanise Ho has gone through every day for the past five and a half months.

She’s in the middle of a journey to roller blade across the United States.

"I’m doing it with nothing. No money, no weapons, no plans," Ho said.

Ho, who calls herself ‘The Bladress,’ has roller bladed over 2,500 miles so far.

She stared in Miami making her way to New York, then Washington D.C., through the Midwest, and arriving in Lincoln on Saturday.

Ho carries minimal supplies instead relying on the kindness of strangers in every town she rolls into, "The world really isn’t as dangerous as most people think it is, we just have to believe that good people exist and it will come to show you that. You have to give people a chance."

The 23-year-old set out on her 6,200 mile journey with the hopes of breaking a world record for longest solo female travel on roller blades.

She wants her story to empower young girls, showing them they’re capable of anything, "I’m also hoping to set an example for girls that if you dream you can do anything."

While Ho still has several months and several thousand miles to go before ending her journey in Portland, Oregon, she says all the travel will be worth it if it impacts one girl.

"I really want to show people that one girl can, one girl can do it."
