‘Everyone has value’: Nebraska small business-focused Facebook group soars, gaining local traction

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A group of Nebraskans is coming together to support one another in hard times.

“Nobody has money right now, so this kind of brings the light back into small businesses.”

It all started with Destiny Hadcock, who works in Fremont. A few days ago, she created a Facebook group called Business Besties Service Swap – Nebraska

It’s a group where hundreds of women-owned businesses can share, trade and support one another. The goal is to save money and create a community where small businesses can work together.

“In this economy, not everybody has the money,” said Hadcock. “But everybody has the skill to do something. That’s what this group brings out.”

There are tons of small businesses that have already joined, ranging from bakeries, jewelry shops and beauty shops.

Right now, the group has already exceeded 100+ members. Given how quickly this group gained traction, Hadcock then started a Co-ed group where both men and women could join.

“That carpenter, that plumber has kids too. He might need a birthday cake,” said Hadcock. “And, I’m a photographer, and maybe I need a backdrop. Everyone has value.”

Hadcock says this is just the beginning.

“The more people that join, the more trades you’re going to have. There’s nothing wrong with saving a little or a lot of money while you’re at it.”
