East Lincoln garage fire causes nearly $100k in damage, LFR says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Fire & Rescue said a garage fire in east Lincoln on Sunday caused nearly $100,000 in damage.
Just before 1:30 p.m., several first responders were sent to a townhome near 70th and O streets.
In a video sent to our NOW Local News App by a Channel 8 reporter, you can see the aftermath of the blaze on the front of the garage.
When crews arrived, LFR said they had extinguished the fire before it spread into the home.
LFR deemed the fire accidental, attributing it to a heat lamp in a duck enclosure.
The blaze caused $60,000 in structural damage and $30,000 in damage to the garage’s contents.
LFR said the occupants of the home evacuated safely and were relocated with the help of the Red Cross after an electrical panel was pulled.
