Forecast:
Heat and humidity also look to make headlines on Tuesday, with a Heat Advisory in place for eastern Nebraska from 1 – 9 p.m. CDT. Heat indices are expected to be above 100°, if not 105°.
Tuesday starts very mild in eastern Nebraska with overnight lows only reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s.
Cloud cover will help keep us on the warmer side in Lincoln through the overnight hours.
Highs will range from the mid-90s to the lower triple digits across the state on Tuesday, with an occasional strong wind gust out of the south.
Be ready for a warm day ahead in the Capital City, with heat and humidity reaching their peak in the afternoon hours. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase after dinner.
Thankfully, the excessive heat and humidity will not stick around for long. Highs drop to the mid-80s by Thursday and to the upper 70s by next week. After a busy couple of days, we are dry until the weekend.
