Lincoln man sentenced after second degree murder conviction

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Joshua Meyers was convicted for second-degree murder and sentenced to 60 years to life on Wednesday, July 8.
Meyers, 40, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder when police found his girlfriend, 43-year-old Tracy Henman, deceased in their shared basement in October 2025.
Henman’s family had called the police after she did not show up for work. Lincoln Police Department (LPD) responded to the call with a welfare check. LPD then found Henman deceased and Meyers sitting next to her with suspected self-inflicted injuries. After more evidence was found pointing to him, Meyer’s was arrested.
He has been behind bars since his arrest last year.
Meyers was originally charged with first-degree murder but, with a plea deal, was sentenced to second-degree murder.
