New recruits for LPD end short staffing in the department

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — New recruits started the journey to become law enforcement officers at Lincoln Police Department (LPD). 20 new people started the fall police academy that started yesterday.

LPD said this class is unique because they will officially end the problem of short staffing.

According to LPD, when this class of recruits finishes the academy they will mark 374 staff members. With their authorized strength of 371, their percentage of authorized strength is now 101%.
