Connecticut man arrested for aiming AR-15 during road rage incident

YORK, Neb. (KLKN) — On Saturday, July 18, a man was arrested for brandishing a weapon during a road rage incident.

A report was made of a man, Michael Johnson, driving a gray Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van pointing a gun at the witnesses as they drove on Interstate 80 (I-80). The reporting party said Johnson had an AR-15 and had gotten off the interstate after the incident.

Deputies with York County Sheriff’s Office and York Police Department located the vehicle matching the description and performed a traffic stop.

A child and the weapon were found in the vehicle during the investigation. The juvenile passenger was safely removed and released to an appropriate guardian. The witnesses identified Johnson as the driver involved.

After a search warrant was obtained, deputies found the rifle, ammunition and magazines.

Johnson was arrested and lodged for terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony and child abuse.
