Lincoln resident is bringing aid to Texas after extreme floods
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln resident, Sydni Sherman, is bringing supplies to Texas following the extreme flooding. All supplies are donated by people from Nebraska and aid towards disaster relief and victims of the flooding.
Sherman brought supplies to Texas last year during their Fourth of July flooding.
“The experience changed my life,” said Sherman. “I witnessed heartbreaking devastation, but I also witnessed the incredible strength of communities coming together and people showing up for complete strangers during some of the worst days of their lives. I came home with a deep love for the Texas Hill Country and a passion for disaster relief.”
Before driving 900 miles, Sherman packs her car with donations. These include bottled waters, electrolyte drinks, nonperishable food and individually packaged snacks.
Sherman said last year, Nebraska filled her car in a matter of days. She leaves Lincoln Tuesday morning and asks the community to help fill her car.
