Athlete of the week: Ollie Foral

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — As the Cornhusker State games wrapped up this weekend, Norris teenager Ollie Foral took home a gold medal in footgolf.
The competition was held at Jim Agers golf course where several different age groups competed.
Foral took part in the 9 hole event, shooting a 29.
His father Doug, says Ollie has always been the ultimate competitor.
“He’s a kid that loves competition. He just likes to get out and go as hard as he can,” said Doug Foral.
This is the second year in a row Ollie has had a share of the stage and it was with the same classmate of his, Carter Stieb.
Last year, they tied with a playoff where Carter took first, and Ollie second. But, this year they both tied again and mutually agreed that Ollie take home the gold, and carter take home the silver.
Ollies father Doug says it’s cool to see the growth of foot golf in the Lincoln community.
“I hope that it brings more awareness to the sport,” Foral said.
He also hopes moments like this can expand the Norris soccer community to get out there each year and compete.
“A big part of footgolf is an opportunity for them to do life together, have some fun and add a little bit of competition to it,” said Foral.
“Hopefully over the next couple of years we can get some more boys from the Norris soccer club to play together.”
