York track coach died after ATV accident
OSCEOLA, Neb. (KLKN) — Randy Johnson, a former teacher and current track coach at York Public Schools (YPS), was killed in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident.
The accident occurred on Highway 92, east of the F Road intersection.
The Polk County Police Dispatch received a call around 6 a.m. reporting the accident. A pickup was following Johnson’s ATV going westbound. The truck struck the ATV, the driver reporting they did not see the ATV.
Johnson, 70, was ejected from the ATV into the ditch. He was transported to the hospital in Osceola where he was later pronounced deceased.
Mitch Bartholomew, superintendent of YPS, said their thoughts are with his family and offered counseling services to staff and students.
