LLCHD says to take precautions during upcoming heat advisory
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) said they urge caution during the upcoming heat. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Lincoln and Lancaster County starting noon on Saturday, July 25 and ends at 10 p.m. Monday, July 27.
The heat index is expected to be up to 109 degrees during this time.
LLCHD said some people are at greater risk than others. These people include infants, children, pregnant people, older adults, outdoor workers, people without air conditioning and more.
They said in order to take precautions, people can limit time outdoors, stay hydrated and check on others.
The City of Lincoln website has information regarding precautions and signs of heat-related illnesses.
