David City partners with UNL architecture students to revamp downtown

DAVID CITY, Neb. (KLKN) — A college class from University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is working to revamp a rural city. David City, the Community and Regional Planning (CRP) program and UNL Architecture have partnered together, earning $400,000 from a federal Community Development Block Grant.

The CRP students and community members of David City have worked together to create the David City Downtown Revitalization Plan.

The students recommendations are becoming reality including a new city park, improving the local museum and plans for a veterans memorial.

UNL said this project shows how classroom learning can create real, tangible benefits for Nebraska communities while providing students with real-world experience.
