Two burglaries occurred in Lincoln and are appearing to be related

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two burglaries were reported on Tuesday, July 21. According to the Lincoln Police Department (LPD), the burglaries seem to be related.

The first burglary occurred at a residence in the area of South 19th and Garfield streets.  The second occurred at an apartment complex next to the first home’s backyard.

The first burglary happened on Monday. The suspect broke a window and stole more than $5,600 in jewelry, collectible coins and power tools.

The items stolen from the apartment totaled to $500 in loss, including electronics and gaming equipment. The suspect kicked the door down to gain entry sometime between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon.

According to LPD, the investigation is ongoing.
