Hi-Way Diner boasts 24/7 service and homestyle cooking

You’ve seen it as you drive down Highway 2: Hi-Way Diner, boasting 24 hour service and homestyle cooking.

“Midwest comfort food, kind of harkens back to years ago when these places were all there was to eat,” Owner Scott Walker said.

Scott has been running the Hi-Way Diner ever since his father passed away, keeping the business in the family.

The eclectic decor and aroma of breakfast food hasn’t changed in the 32 years Hi-Way Diner’s doors have been open.

“I think that’s really what brings people in,” Walker said.

People like Mike Muehling. He comes in every Friday to meet with a group of friends, and his patronage dates way back.

“I was coming here in the 80’s when I was in college – it’s the same Hi-Way Diner, everybody knows it,” Muehling said.

So whether it’s the sizzle of the bacon or the friendly service, there’s no doubt you’ll find the same familiar faces, likely sitting in the same spot, for many years to come.
