Lincoln woman arrested for assaulting 75-year-old man

A Lincoln woman has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 75-year-old man with a knife, chair, and scooter. 

Officers responded to the reported assault at 9th and Plum Street on Saturday. 

The victim said he was sleeping in bed when he was woken up by the woman, identified by police as Monica Bernhardt, 30, throwing a chair at him. The victim also told police the woman threw a scooter at him and stabbed him. 

Police said the man suffered non life-threatening injuries. 

Bernhardt was arrested for second degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
