Grand Island set to host third exhibition matchup for Huskers men’s basketball team

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KLKN) — The BigIron Events Center is hosting an exhibition matchup between the Huskers men’s basketball team and Kansas State Wildcats.
The game will occur Monday, Oct 26 at the Eihusen Arena. Details about the game will be announced at a later date, including ticket information.
Nebraska Head Coach Fred Hoiberg said himself and the team are excited for the environment and matchup.
“We have a lot of fans in central Nebraska and are excited to bring the Huskers to Grand Island,” Hoiberg said. “With a third exhibition game, it provides us an opportunity to build our brand across the state, and we appreciate Head Coach Casey Alexander and the Wildcats for making this matchup happen. We have had a lot of great matchups with K-State over the years, including last year’s Hall of Fame Classic, and it should be a tremendous environment.”
The matchup is presented by Pinnacle Bank, marking the third exhibition game for the Huskers’ preseason.
The matchup continues to emphasize BigIron Events Center’s ability to host major athletic events.
“Hosting Nebraska and Kansas State at BigIron Events Center is a tremendous opportunity for Grand Island and all of central Nebraska,” Kyler Tarwater, Executive Director of BigIron Events Center, said. “High-profile events like this showcase the strength of our community, support local businesses and hotels, and reinforce Grand Island’s position as a destination for major sports and entertainment.”
