American Airlines flights are being held up nationwide because of an IT outage

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — According to ABC, American Airlines flights are being held for a nationwide ground stop because of an IT outage.

A Federal Aviation Administration advisory told ABC it is not flights that are currently in the air.

There are three daily American Airlines flights at Lincoln Airport.

UPDATE July 28, 6:30 p.m.:

American Airlines issued a statement after flights were departing again.

“A technology issue briefly impacted connectivity for some of our systems on Tuesday evening. Systems are coming back online now and flights are departing again. We put a temporary ground stop in place while our teams worked to resolve the issue. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
