Former UFC fighter’s bond set at $500,000 after alleged threats towards his wife

SARPY COUNTY, Neb. (KLKN) — Anthony Smith, a former UFC fighter, allegedly threatened to kill his wife at a bar in Gretna. A Sarpy County Judge set his bond at $500,000 for the 38-year-old Smith.
Smith is facing charges including first-degree domestic assault, terroristic threats and first-degree false imprisonment. He would need to pay $50,000 in order to be released.
Additionally, the court ordered Smith to have no contact with his wife, the named victim.
According to the prosecutor, Smith grabbed his wife and pushed her into his car after threatening to kill her if she did not enter. Allegedly, Smith tried to use his vehicle to strike his wife multiple times. His wife was able to get out of the way and avoid injury.
This Monday, July 27, an arrest warrant for Smith was authorized. He turned himself into authorities.
Smith is scheduled to appear in Sarpy County District Court on Aug. 17.
