UPDATE: Fatality accident near Gateway Mall

The City of Lincoln sent this press release around 10:00 Friday night. 

UPDATE: On March 29, 2019 at approximately 1:04 PM officers investigated a fatality accident that occurred at O Street and Lyncrest Drive.

Lincoln Police Officers responded to O Street and Lyncrest Drive on a report of four vehicles involved in the collision.

The initial investigation has determined that a westbound Mercedes crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic where a collision occurred between it and three
other vehicles that were stopped in the two eastbound lanes waiting to turn northbound.

One passenger in the Mercedes was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and later was pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as 23 year old Jared J Williams of Lincoln.

The accident is still under investigation
