Nebraska State Trooper hit on I-80 while stopped for previous crash

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KLKN) — On Aug. 13, around 10 p.m., a Nebraska State Trooper’s vehicle was struck by another car. The trooper was inside his vehicle when the Buick Enclave rear-ended him on Interstate 80.
The trooper was directing traffic into the passing lane due to a previous crash near mil marker 187.
After hitting the patrol car, the Buick came to rest in the median. The surrounding troopers, there for the previous crash, checked on both parties for injuries. The Buick driver was not injured.
The trooper that was hit was taken to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
The driver of the Buick was cited for failure to move over for an emergency vehicle, open alcohol container, no registration and no insurance. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
