UPDATE: Lincoln man found dead in field identified

Lincoln Police have released the identity of a Lincoln man found dead in a field Thursday.

Police say the body of Stephen Maser, 67, of Lincoln was discovered around 8 a.m. Thursday near Bittersweet Drive and Northwest 2nd Street.

Officers responded to the scene on reports of a suspicious vehicle. A caller reported a pickup in the field that appeared to be stuck with its tires spinning, and that the truck was still there the next day.

LPD said Maser’s body was found next to the truck.

Police said there is nothing obviously suspicious about the death. An autopsy has been scheduled.
