LPS taking donations for flood victims at Lincoln High track meet

LPS is having its open track meet today at Lincoln High School.

There are donation buckets at the entrance, with all the money going to the American Red Cross.

Lincoln Southwest Activities Director Mark Armstrong said their booster club came up with the idea.

Armstrong said the Red Cross is most in need of financial donations right now.

But he said this also teaches kids about giving back.

“We talk a lot about servant leadership and what it means to give back to your community outside of the field and court and those types of things,” Armstrong said.  “And what it means to give up yourself to help others that are in need, whether it’s financial need, whether it’s extra help doing different things.”

Again, it’s being held at the LPS open track meet at Lincoln High.  The event goes until around 7 p.m.
