Lincoln woman sentenced on meth charges

A Lincoln woman was sentenced to more than five years in prison for conspiracy to distribute meth.

United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced Tuesday that Nicole Renee Kemp, 42, of Lincoln, will spend 63 months in federal prison.

Kemp is accused of distributing approximately three pounds of meth mixture and five ounces of pure meth between July of 2016 and September of 2017.

In August of 2017, Lincoln Police officers found more than a pound of meth in a car Kemp was driving. She told officers she didn’t know the drugs were in the car, but that her co-defendant, Bryant Omonttez Williams, was moving a box around in the backseat earlier that day.

A month later, an informant working with investigators contacted Kemp to buy drugs. Kemp told the informant that Williams had methamphetamine for sale, and he ultimately gave the informant a small amount of meth. Kemp then met with the informant to take money for the drugs.

Williams also pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge. He was was sentenced in October of 2018 to more than 21 years in prison.
