Nebraska State Patrol directs travelers during Husker Harvest Days
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) is ensuring travelers are prepared for the upcoming busy days due to Husker Harvest Days.
Husker Harvest Days begins today and runs through Sept. 17.
It is the world’s largest irrigated working farm show and brings travelers from all around to near Grand Island.
“Husker Harvest Days is a showcase of Nebraska’s ag industry and the farmers and ranchers who feed the world,” said Captain Dean Riedel, Commander of Troop C, based in Grand Island. “Our goal is that all visitors have safe trips to and from the show. We’re proud to team up with several public safety partners in that mission this week.”
NSP troopers will be directing traffic throughout the event to reduce the risk of potential crashes. Traffic will slow from Grand Island on Highway 30 and NSP asks drivers to be prepared by maintaining a safe distance and speed.
